There are hotels that give offers like a discount if you could a companion with you or sometimes special treatment in their buffet and cafeteria areas. It is also nice that some of these hotels really do a full service as to give their guest a drive from arrival in the airport up to their next trip the moment they sign out at the hotel's lobby. New year traditions

This is one event that people from all over the world celebrate. These celebrations are not always held on 1 January, but traditions and religious celebrations, parades, costume parties are said by many to bring fortune and good luck in the upcoming year.

In Ecuador, South America, New Year or Ano Veijo is commemorated by the creation of a dummy or fake person. The scarecrow-like person is completely stuffed with newspaper cuttings and dressing in fireworks. Those celebrating will place the dummy outside the home, which stands for something that had happened in the past year. When the clock strikes midnight, the families ignite the dummy, and as the firecrackers go off the old year is wiped away and the new one waits.

In Greece, children's shoes are filled with presents at midnight by St. Basil.

If you live in Denmark and you find piles of broken dishware in front of your door on New Years, be very happy, because it symbolizes that you are a person with many friends.
