If you want to have one of those great fairytale weddings, but without all the fancy expensive things, you should consider having a New Year's Eve wedding. It will definitely be memorable and every year you will have two great events to celebrate on the same day! What you should do here is have the wedding ceremony in the evening on New Years Eve and then have the reception going into midnight as then you can celebrate new years as well as your marriage. All your friends won't have to choose between your wedding and a new year's party and you can all celebrate together, with family and friends.
When the ceremony is over and everyone has said their congratulations and you have had a chance to greet all your guests accordingly, you and your partner can get changed into some more comfortable clothes and get ready for the reception. Some ideas of what to wear for a wedding ceremony/new years eve party for the bride would be a pretty glitter cocktail gown and the groom can wear a suit, if he would like to stay in "fancy" clothes. Grey would be a suitable color for him to wear as it is classy but at the same time stylish and fits the occasion.
