The origin of New Year celebration date back hundred of years, in history. Based on the Gregorian calendar which is mainly accepted in the world today the 1st of January is generally accepted to be the first day of the New Year. Some religions do not honor this date and follow their own religious calendar and celebrate New Year on a different date. Buddhism and Judaism is a very good example of religions who do not accept 1st of January as the first day of the year. Some religions have their own calendar and method of counting time and dates that they still follow. Ethiopia for example is country with a totally different date counting system and is not even on the same year as the conventional calendar. |

As was already said, Egg nog makes almost every New Year recipe but it can either be with alcohol or without. Many people mix many different types of drinks to make a different taste. People also drink beer during the New Year. The main reason people like to mix alcoholic in their drinks is because of the enhanced taste that it brings to the drink. Making sure you don't over do the recipe is a must because of the alcoholic drink over powering the taste. New years are all about spending time with your partner to make a romantic decision on the next year to come. People also like to make sure they make it to the ball drop. Couples every year also surround the ball every year at Time Square to make the resolution of the year. During that time they serve the best New Year drinks possible to every one. It might cost money but if you are a drinker that's the way to start your new year.
