The main places where new years parties are held and are quite a rage are pubs and discos. These places do run parties the year round. The New Year parties although are very different from the parties held the year round. These parties often have a distinct theme every year and this is what makes them different from other parties. Often these parties are coupled with an entry fee. This fee is, however waived off f you have a partner to go along with you. If you have a large house, you can invite lots of people but if you regard your house as not too big you should limit the guests list slightly. Very importantly, if people arrive at your party and you have no idea who they are, don't let them in! This is a common mistake that many people make when they have New Year parties as things tend to get very out of hand. If your friends would like to bring a friend then that's ok, but not just random people knocking on your door when they hear music coming from inside, that's just looking for trouble.

You can have your guests bring their own food to be barbequed if you are having a lot of people and are not sure about what they eat and what they don't eat, but if it is just regulars, you can provide the food (if you are willing to do so) and they should also bring their own alcohol, unless of course you insist on providing that too. Besides all that and most importantly, it is about enjoying yourself and having a night to remember!
