Some good colors for a celebration like this one are black and silver, white and silver, or gold and white. These are great colors for the occasion as they are fashionable, but also say "party" and "fun"!
Another great thing about having your wedding on New Years Eve is that you will save on buying food for two different occasions. With an event like this one, finger foods will be a better option than a full on three course meal. You can still provide your guests with seating at tables but rather have a large table where they can see to themselves with the food. Have all the dishes set on the table with cutlery, sauces, etc and let them do it themselves. This will save you a lot of trouble and also, you won't have to dish their food for them. Some ideas of great finger foods are fruit, crackers, crabsticks, shrimp and other seafood.
You can serve alcohol if you wish, but remember to also cater for people that do not drink alcohol and make sure you have some Champaign for the countdown. Have a DJ to play your music and also ask them if they will do the announcement of the countdown over the mic.

The pubs and discos hosting these parties often compete with each other to get the maximum number of people into their party and this often leads to waiver of the entry fee during the latter part of the New Year party. New Year parties held at discos are often the ones attracting the maximum attendance. If you are trying to sleep around your area on the last day of December you can count on being woke up as soon as that clock strikes 12AM. You will more than likely be woken up by a group of fireworks going off in your area by a lot of people yelling "Happy New Year!" Chances are you already know this because it has probably happened to you before as everyone was experiencing a New Years countdown.
On the last day of December have you ever been fast asleep and when the clock strikes midnight (New Year) the telephone rung? Don't worry, this is generally happens to a lot of people who do not go out and party for a New Year countdown. Yes, we have all experienced waking up to answer the telephone, being half asleep and hearing "Happy New Year" being shouted in our ear by a person that is obviously wide awake, yes, this can be very annoying but we still try to be nice about it.
In conclusion, during the New Year countdown if you do not attend any parties during the last day of December you will either be staying at home enjoying it with your spouse and kids or sleeping and if you are sleeping you should turn that phone off so you will not be awaken by "Happy New Year!"
