What do you need most on a new years getaway trip? It is indeed a hotel room. It would not be a very nice sight if you were to be stranded during the New Year with a get away plan but cannot book a hotel room for your stay there. A hotel room is needed even if you do not intend to stay there because that is often the safest place for your belongings in the place where you intend to go. Also, it serves as a very nice resting place after you are famished with all the activity you have done during the trip on the new years. A hotel room will also serve the purpose if you just want to spend some quality time with your loved one without being disturbed by the outside world.
New Year hotel rooms often have to be booked quite in advance to avoid disappointment. If booked at the year end, there are very slim chances of you getting a room . so if you do not want you plans of the new year to go bust, you will be better off booking a hotel room in advance.

Residents of Japan spend endless weeks planning this celebration. Special foods are purchased and decorations are made for the front doors from bamboo, ropes and pine branches. It is believed that these provide long life and health. Seaweed and/or ferns are hung on roofs of homes to bring good luck and happiness. Children get to look forward to "otoshidamas", which are gifts of money. New Year cards are also sent out to friends and family and forgetting-year celebrations are held to wish the old year farewell. Disagreements and misunderstandings between family and their friends that they have had are forgiven. Bells are rung 108 times on 31 December to frighten off 108 troubles. After the gongs are rung, the people laugh and this is said to push bad spirits away. With the troubles and bad spirits gone, and the enemies forgiven, this day is happily celebrated.
One known tradition is the resolutions, and this goes back as far as early Babylonians. The Babylonians had a very popular resolution and that was the promise to return all borrowed farming equipment. Today, resolutions include: quit smoking and lose weight. How many times have these resolutions being broken?
There is a four-day long parade in Nepal during the celebration of New Year and in Greece the residents carry ships, apples and stars figures.

New Year celebrations are held with pomp and celebrations by different cultures around the world. It is a time seen as an opportunity to celebrate and be happy to have seen another new year. Gifts are shared and accepted, everyone is in a holiday mood and the Holliday industry is in full swing.
Different cultures, people and religions celebrate the New Year at different dates and style. The majority of celebrations happen to fall on the first of January as most people of the world accept it as the first of the year. Religions like Buddhism and Judaism recognize other dates as the first of the year.
No matter the date that the New Year celebration falls on there are some general reactions to the New Year celebration. Most countries recognize the day as a public holiday and so the holiday locations are packed with visitors. People are generally in a happy mood and are brightly dressed and eager to party.
